Are you not able to see a piece of content in your Instagram DM?
You can share posts on Instagram via direct messages.
The posts can be your and other users as well.
To share it, you need to tap on the airplane icon under a post, choose the user that you want to share it with, and select “Send” to send it.
It will allow the user to view the post as well as the original poster.
However, some users are not able to see the contact that is shared.
In this article, I will tell you why Instagram says “Content unavailable cannot find this user” in your DM and how to fix it.
Why does Instagram say that the content is unavailable?
Instagram says that the content is unavailable because you are blocked by the original poster.
Otherwise, the post was taken down by Instagram or the post was removed by the original poster.
If you are blocked from the user, the system will stop you from seeing the content posted by the user.
Alternatively, the posts that are removed either by the poster or Instagram itself will not be available.
What does “Content unavailable cannot find this user” mean on Instagram?
“Content unavailable cannot find this user” means that you are blocked by the original poster on Instagram.
Consequently, you will be restricted from seeing their profile and the content that they post.
Otherwise, the account of the original poster is deleted or deactivated on Instagram.
The error can also occur when the original poster is suspended or the post was removed by Instagram.
Reason 1. The original poster blocked you
If the content is unavailable, the reason can be that the original poster might have blocked you on IG.
If you are blocked by the user, you will not be able to find that user.
Additionally, you will not be able to see the profile of original poster and content.
Therefore, if a user DMs you one of the posts of the original poster, you will not be able to view it.
Reason 2. Deactivated or deleted
The profile of the original poster might be removed or deactivated.
In this case, all of their posts will be removed from Instagram permanently.
Consequently, the posts will not be available anywhere on the application to see.
For instance, posts that are shared via direct messages will not be accessible.
Reason 3. Suspended account
If the account of the original poster is suspended, the posts will no longer be available in your DMs.
When an account is suspended from the platform, the posts will be temporarily removed—but you cannot see them.
Instagram can suspend your account if you break one or more of its terms and community guidelines.
If the user gets unsuspended by appealing, the posts will be restored automatically.
Reason 4. The post was taken down
Instagram contains a lot of community guidelines that you need to abide by.
The prominent ones are no illegal content, hate speech, violence, and so on.
If your post violated a community guideline, Instagram will take it down.
As a result, if a post is unavailable on Instagram, the reason might be the action from IG.
How to fix content unavailable on Instagram
To fix content unavailable on Instagram, you can ask original poster to take a screenshot of the post and send it to you.
This method will only work if the sharer who sent it can see it.
If both you and the sharer cannot view it, it indicates that the original poster might be suspended from Instagram.
In this case, the post will not be visible to you unless the sharer took a screenshot of it before its unavailability.
